Building Specs/Details: This project included all new utilities, exterior work, structural/seismic improvements, geothermal HVAC system installation, and marble repair and replacement.  In addition, the project required the photographing, removing, labeling, storage and reinstallation of all existing woodwork.

Colcock Hall

Project: Colcock Hall
Client: Medical University of South Carolina
Location: 171 Ashley Ave., Peninsular Charleston
Duration: 330 days
Completion Date: May 2005
Building Specs/Details: The restoration of this 140-year-old building included historic finish carpentry, floor and window restoration, structural masonry and wood framing. We also installed a hydraulic elevator, a modern mechanical, electrical and plumbing system and a state-of-the-art media system.


Historic Architecture Exhibit at Charlestowne Landing Redevelopment

Project: Historic Architecture Exhibit at Charlestowne Landing Redevelopment
Client: South Carolina Parks, Recreation, and Tourism
Location: Charlestowne Landing State Park
Duration: 5 months
Completion Date: December 29th, 2006
Building Specs/Details: NBM installed special foundations for the erection of a "timber-framed" replica of an indentured servants' quarters using historic construction joinery techniques with hand-hewned lumber. The structure was built off-site by Holder Brothers Timber Framers, then re-erected here.


Lance Hall Renovation/Addition

Project: Lance Hall Renovation/Addition
Client: Circular Congregational Church
Location: 138 Meeting Street, Peninsular Charleston
Duration: 13 months
Completion Date: July 2007
Building Specs/Details: Downtown Charleston's first "green" building, this project included the addition of four new classrooms, an elevator, a new restroom/shower and a bluestone patio, as well as the installation of a geothermal air conditioning system and a storm water runoff system which stores water for irrigation.  

 
I can honestly say that Mr. Magee is the only person I know who could have transformed this old historic building into a modern treasure.

Circular Congregational Church
Lance Hall Renovation/Addition
 

Market Hall Restoration

Project: Market Hall Restoration
Client: City of Charleston
Location: 188 Meeting Street
Duration: 40 Months
Completion Date: March 15, 2002
Building Specs/Details: This involved the complete restoration of the interior and exterior of this circa 1841 building, including the ornamental plaster details, addition of new brownstone steps, a complete utility upgrade and wrought iron restoration.  NBM removed, labeled and reinstalled all antique heart pine flooring.  


Renovation of Dock Street Theatre

Project: Renovation of Dock Street Theatre
Client: City of Charleston
Location: 135 Church Street, Charleston, SC
Duration: 29 Months
Completion Date: January 25, 2010
Building Specs/Details: The renovations consist of a complete interior renovation utilizing salvaged and restored historic materials.  In addition, all structures received a complete seismic retrofit.  All structures received new electrical and mechanical systems.
